Dr. Keller was born and raised in Oklahoma having graduated high school in Oklahoma City. Upon earning his Bachelor’s degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, he entered the world of advertising and marketing. In a matter of a few years, he returned to his first love of psychology and completed his Master’s of Counseling at the University of Central Oklahoma.
Dr. Keller performed his doctoral work at the University of Oklahoma earning a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. It was during his dissertation research with cardiac patients that he developed a passion for health-related psychology. He then completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Psychology at the OU Medical center where he later joined the faculty serving as the Director of the Pediatric Psychology Consultation and Liaison service for Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Keller left the academic setting to establish a private practice in Oklahoma City and concurrently worked with Norman Regional Hospital for several years. During his time with Norman Regional, he first had the opportunity to begin serving bariatric patients, a population with whom he thoroughly enjoyed working.
Since, 2001, the psychology of bariatrics has become Dr. Keller’s primary specialty and he has conducted over 3,000 pre-surgical psychological evaluations for nearly a dozen surgeons over the past six years.
Dr. Keller joined WeightWise in January of 2006 as Director of Behavioral Health. He currently performs a range of clinical duties at Foundation Bariatric Hospital of Oklahoma and coordinates program development for the Behavioral Health Department.
Dr. Keller is married and has two children.
