Long Term Follow Up

Bariatric operations are only a part of long term success (an indispensible part; nevertheless, only a part). For bariatric patients, life after surgery is arguably more important to the overall success of the procedure than the surgery itself. Weight loss operations are not curative in and of themselves. Patients must adopt a new healthy, active lifestyle to take full advantage of the operation. Patients also need to understand the necessity of routine appointments to monitor their progress and address any physical, emotional, or nutritional challenges before they become an issue. The primary challenge facing patients is the shift away from habits that have been developed over years. Experience reveals that frequent contact between patients and their weight loss program is the single biggest factor in generating patient commitment and long term success.

Our program will include regularly scheduled visits with the Bariatric Surgeon, Nutritionist, Psychologist, and Exercise Physiologist.
